Holiday Inn Corby has partnered with Roam to deliver seamless EV charging for guests and visitors. With a fully funded solution, the hotel now offers reliable, hassle-free charging - adding value for guests, supporting sustainability goals, and modernising its facilities for the electric age.

The project

Holiday Inn Corby is a well-established hotel located just off the A43, a key route for both local traffic and long-distance travellers. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, generous amenities, and spacious accommodation, the hotel attracts a diverse mix of leisure and business guests throughout the year.

As electric vehicle ownership continues to rise across the UK, the hotel team recognised a shift in guest expectations. Increasingly, EV drivers want charging to be as straightforward and accessible as Wi-Fi or parking, not just a bonus, but an essential part of the stay. Without the right infrastructure in place, hotels risk being overlooked by this growing demographic.

With this in mind, Holiday Inn Corby set out to enhance its offer by introducing on-site EV charging. The goal was twofold: to improve the overall guest experience and to future-proof the hotel’s facilities in line with evolving travel habits and sustainability priorities. But the team also wanted a solution that wouldn’t add operational pressure or require capital investment - which is where Roam came in.

The solution

Roam delivered a fully funded EV charging solution tailored to the hotel’s needs. The installation included ten 22kW fast charging sockets and two 50kW rapid chargers, ideal for guests needing a quick top-up, particularly those arriving via the nearby A43. The chargers were strategically installed in accessible bays, ensuring ease of use for both overnight and short-stay guests.

With Roam managing the service end to end, Holiday Inn Corby benefits from remote monitoring to maximise uptime, annual charger health checks to ensure ongoing performance, and 24/7 customer support for guests who need assistance. The hotel team can rely on Roam to deliver a smooth, fully managed experience, with no operational burden.

The results

By introducing EV charging, Holiday Inn Corby has made itself a more attractive destination for today’s eco-conscious traveller. Guests can now arrive, relax, and recharge - all while their vehicle does the same. The inclusion of rapid chargers helps capture passing traffic from the A43, adding further value to the site.
