Hand Picked Hotels has partnered with Roam to deliver a fully funded EV charging rollout across its luxury hotel portfolio, providing convenient destination charging for guests travelling across the UK and Channel Islands.

The project

Hand Picked Hotels operates a collection of luxury country house hotels and coastal resorts across the UK and Channel Islands, welcoming guests seeking premium hospitality experiences in distinctive, heritage-rich locations.

As demand for electric vehicle travel continues to grow, the group identified an opportunity to enhance its guest offering with convenient, reliable EV charging infrastructure across its portfolio. With many guests travelling long distances for overnight stays, spa visits, dining experiences, and events, destination charging became an increasingly important part of the overall guest experience.

The aim was to introduce a scalable EV charging solution that aligned with the quality and convenience expected across the portfolio, while supporting broader sustainability ambitions within the hospitality sector. Roam was selected to deliver a fully managed charging solution capable of supporting both current and future EV demand across multiple hotel locations.

The solution

Hand Picked Hotels partnered with Roam to deploy and operate 112 EV charge points across 20 hotel properties throughout the UK and Channel Islands.

The rollout spans a range of luxury destinations, including countryside estates and coastal resorts, creating a reliable charging network for guests travelling by electric vehicle. The charging infrastructure has been designed to integrate seamlessly into each location, allowing guests to conveniently recharge during overnight stays, leisure visits, and events.

Roam is managing the full lifecycle of the rollout, including site design, installation, operation, and ongoing maintenance. The fully managed approach ensures a consistent charging experience across the portfolio while minimising operational involvement for hotel teams.

The results

The partnership strengthens Hand Picked Hotels’ position as a forward-thinking hospitality group, helping futureproof its properties against growing EV demand while enhancing the guest experience.

Guests can now enjoy greater confidence when travelling by electric vehicle, knowing charging is available across multiple hotel locations within the portfolio.
