The UK's electric vehicle market has reached another important milestone.

According to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), 43,106 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) were registered in July, accounting for 27.5% of all new car registrations. That's an increase of 44.5% compared with July 2025.

While these figures demonstrate the continued growth of electric vehicle adoption, they also signal something bigger. As more drivers choose to go electric, expectations around charging are changing too.
