EV charger grants for residential landlords 2026/2027 - what's changing?
EV charger grant updates for residential landlords from April 2026.

What the latest OZEV grant changes mean for residential landlords installing EV chargers.
The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) has announced changes to EV charge point grants for residential landlords, which will come into effect from 1st April 2026.
What EV charging grants are available for residential landlords?
Currently, there are two types of grants available for residential landlords – the Residential Landlord Charge Point Grant and the Residential Landlord Infrastructure Grant.
While the Infrastructure Grant will be closing from 31st March 2026, the Residential Landlord Charge Point Grant has been extended for another 12 months to 31st March 2027 and will see an increase in value from £350 to £500 per socket from 1st April 2026.
What is the Residential Landlord Charge Point Grant?
Designed for landlords who want to install EV charge points at residential properties they rent out, the grant provides landlords with £500 per socket.
How do I apply for a Residential Landlord Charge Point Grant?
From 1st April, the Residential Landlord Charge Point Grant will be transferring to the government’s Find a Grant platform.
You will need to register for a Find a Grant account to apply. Installers will need to be authorised by OZEV to participate in grant schemes but will not need to register for a grant account.
What if I have already applied for a Residential Landlord Charge Point Grant at £350?
If you have recently submitted a grant application for a residential landlord charge point grant, then you can resubmit your application to access the increased rate when the Find a Grant platform opens on 1st April. The old application will then be cancelled and your new application assessed.
What if I want to apply for the Residential Landlord Infrastructure Grant?
You can still do this, but you must apply before 31st March 2026. Go to the government’s page here to start your application.
