How to claim your free Roam membership (for David Lloyd members)
A quick guide on how David Lloyd members can claim a free Roam membership and save 8p/kWh at participating clubs.
Project overview
Roam are working with David Lloyd to bring convenient EV charging to your club – so you can plug in while you work out. As a David Lloyd member, you can claim a free Roam membership (normally £7.20/month) and get an 8p/kWh discount every time you charge.
Eligibility: This offer is available only at David Lloyd Clubs where Roam has installed EV chargers. If your club isn’t live yet, don’t worry - Roam will likely be at your club soon.
Step-by-step (takes a minute)
Download the Roam app (iOS or Android), open it, then sign up for a new account or log in if you already have one.
In the app menu, click the 'Account' tab at the bottom and go to 'Account Details'.
Scroll down to 'Linked Memberships'.
Select David Lloyd from the list of memberships.
Enter your David Lloyd membership number in the box that appears and tap 'Verify'. If you don't know your David Lloyd membership number, you can find it at the top within your David Lloyd app.
All set - your Roam account will be upgraded to a free membership and your 8p/kWh saving will apply when you charge.
Quick tips for your first charge
- Plug the charging cable into your car
- Open the Roam app and press the ‘Charge’ tab at the bottom of your screen
- Tap ‘Scan QR code’ and scan the QR code on the screen or on the charger
- Start your charge
You can track your charging progress and costs live in the app, and you can stop the session there when you’re done. A receipt will be available in your charging history.
