New Capital Quay
Installing 12 EV charging bays at New Capital Quay, a busy mixed-use site combining residential homes and retail spaces.

Roam has delivered a seamless EV charging solution at New Capital Quay, supporting residents and visitors with convenient, hassle-free access. Installed at no cost to Galliard Homes, the fully funded setup supports sustainable living and meets modern expectations.
The project
New Capital Quay is a landmark residential development in Greenwich, set along the Thames and home to a large community of apartment residents. With on site retail, cafés and a major Waitrose store, the area also sees regular use from visitors and local shoppers.
As EV adoption continues to grow in London, demand for on site charging has risen. Residents want the ability to charge close to home, and property owners are seeking practical, future ready solutions that do not strain resources.
The objective was clear: install reliable EV infrastructure that enhances resident experience without creating operational complexity or capital investment. Roam provided a fully funded solution that met both residential and commercial needs.
The solution
Roam delivered a fully funded EV charging installation tailored to the layout of the site. Six 22kW fast chargers were installed within the residential parking area, giving apartment residents easy access to reliable home charging.
To support shorter stay usage in the commercial part of the car park, Roam also installed four additional sockets. This included four 22kW fast chargers and two 50kW rapid chargers to serve visitors and those stopping for nearby retail.
All charging bays operate on a first come first serve basis, allowing residents and visitors to plug in without the need for booking or bay allocation. Charger placement was carefully planned to separate residential and commercial use while keeping access straightforward.
The system is monitored and maintained by Roam, with remote performance tracking, regular health checks, and 24 hour driver support. Galliard Homes benefits from a hands off solution that keeps chargers running smoothly and residents supported.
The results
With dedicated chargers in place, residents at New Capital Quay can charge their EVs at home with ease. This removes a key barrier to switching and strengthens the appeal of the development.
The commercial charging bays add value by serving footfall from nearby retail, helping the site meet a wider range of driver needs.
By choosing Roam’s fully funded model, Galliard Homes upgraded the site’s infrastructure at no cost. The result is a future ready setup that supports cleaner, more convenient travel.
New Capital Quay is a well known riverside development in Greenwich offering modern homes, retail, and green space. With on site EV charging now in place, residents can enjoy a more flexible lifestyle that supports electric driving without compromise.
